I came into SonderMind with a goal of setting up a true lifecycle comms program from the ground up. With a challenging audience (clients at tough points in their lives seeking therapeutic care) and a small window of opportunity (encourage, educate and convert them before the wind blows the other way and they bail on therapy), I knew I had my work cut out for me.
But my biggest challenge turned out to be the hardcoded emails being sent ouf of the Product via SendGrid (sigh). Not a novel problem in the startup world, but one I was ready to take on.
Over the course of many months, I audited, refreshed and removed hardcoded emails, while in parallel building out the ideal journeys I wanted our clients to experience.
It started with the 1) client therapeutic journey 2) the gaps or challenges that they would inevitably face in finding (connecting with the right therapist) and maintaining (doing the work to show up each week, and to embody what they were learning) positive care, and 3) providing nudges in the right direction or help with the product where needed.
This was a delicate dance to orchestrate product emails with marketing emails, and the work to fully integrate Marketo into the tech stack was not simple task, but I'm proud of how the work progressed during my time at SonderMind.
Over the course of my tenure at SonderMind and after some internal changes, I people managed both the Marketing Ops and SEO functions, with 2 direct reports working on owned channels. I cherished this time, watching my colleagues grow and overcome professional challenges and celebrate big wins.
